The Night Cafe 3D
This is a project I did for a 3D Video and Animation class at UCLA. The project was to reproduce a famous selected work form an artist. I chose to reproduce Vincent Van Gogh's The Night Cafe (1888) in 3D using MAYA. The second part of the project was to produce our own artist interpretation of the work. I decided to interpret the scene from a close up perspective and of a more raw reality.
I created this animation for my Motion Design class. The objective was the create one-minute a sound scape of everyday noises. I chose to create a compilation of alarm clocks. Then, using our sound, we were ask to develop a visual solution to animate, match and represent the sound.
My concept was to personify and anthropomorphize houses and bring them to life as the town wakes up. Thus, Good Morningville is a one-minute animation illustrating the awakening of an animated town.
Sometimes I like to draw. My choice of weapon are fine line pens, I don't particularly like drawing in pencils. I've found that the commitment and risk involved with drawing with pens forces you to make more confident artistic choices, and in turn has always allowed me to produce stronger work.
When I sketch, I normally draw things that remind me of home.
