I look for interdisciplinary ways to apply design and technology

to solve human-centered problems.

ABOUT MY MOTIVATIONS

SCALE

I grew up in Hong Kong, a hustling-bustling city of 7 million inhabitants. I saw firsthand how everyday design, whether user-interfaces or city planning, dictated our ability to orchestrate, organize, and thrive as a collective society.

Entranced by the power of scale, I've always gravitated towards missions that inspire, enable, or reach mass audiences.

PURPOSE

I'm value-driven and purpose-led. I don't take on challenges because they are easy, or hard. I take them on because they matter

I was raised with a strong sense of community on the city, district, school, and household level. For me, people have always been "the why." Driven by servant leadership, I constantly seek personal growth in order to better serve others.

I'm most passionate about advancing the status of women, and democratizing education.

INSPIRE

Inspiration is contagious. When you are inspired, you can't help but want to inspire others. A single moment of inspiration can spark creativity. Creativity charges ideas, and ideas unleash human's ambition to achieve dreams.

I believe the human spirit is the most untapped resource on the planet. Unlocking this potential begins with being moved. So for me, I'm constantly on a relentless hunt in search of the epic

Get inspired. Go inspire. Make the world a more beautiful place.

MY ORIGIN STORY

Although I was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a tiny town in the Midwest, I was brought up in Hong Kong - one of the most densely populated places on earth. I attended an International School and met hundreds of amazing people from all over the world. I have one older brother, Calvin, and arguably the best parents in the world.

I grew up in a household where gadgets were replaced faster than milk cartons. It was here, in this metropolitan city that I began to take an interest in design and how it can influence the world around us. It is the blend of new technology and visual design incorporated into the real world that I find most intriguing.

Enthralled by how the new age of digital storytelling could inspire movements, I decided to pursue a degree in Design Media Arts and minor in Film and Television at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). It was here, in this dynamic city where my passions manifested and my dreams grew.

I was constantly looking for new mediums of design to push the boundaries of thought. But as I became more exposed to digital mediums, I began see the limitless potential of technology itself. How, by building platforms and tools, we can unlock and unleash boundaries of doing and making - not just thinking. From then on, I pivoted from visual design as a means of storytelling, to building digital product as a means to enable others.

On this interdisciplinary journey, I've worked at Disney, GOOD Inc, Adobe, NASA, and Microsoft. Whether I'm designing story-high ads in Times Square or building robots for Mars, I'm simply passionate about empowering the human spirit, and advancing our society. My dream is to use my talents to influence our global community in an awe-inspiring way.

I moved to DC in 2019 to serve as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow. After my fellowship, I decided to stay in the capital to lead efforts around Facebook’s elections research and transparency. Today, I lead Privacy for the future of AR Glasses at Meta.

That's me in a nutshell.

I'm both multi-dimensional, and incredibly simple.
